Becoming SKD


Vocation to consecrated life is a divine gift. Consecrated life constitutes a close imitation and an abiding re-enactment of the life of Jesus who came into the world to do the will of the Father.

Vocation Promotion

“…the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few;

pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out the labourers into his harvest” (Mt 9: 37-38).

Stages of Formation

  • Aspirancy: This period is meant to give the candidate the basic understanding of religious life.
  • Postulancy: Postulancy is a period of spiritual and religious initiation for noviceship.
  • Novitiate: During this period the candidate learns to sit at the feet of the Lord (LK 10: 39) learning the lessons of discipleship from him, and establishes a deeper and intimate personal relationship with the Lord.
  • Temporary Profession and Vestition: The novice having experienced God’s love in Jesus dedicates her life to make that love visible.
  • Juniorate: This is a period between the first temporary profession and the perpetual profession.  This period is meant for deepening the religious commitment.
